What should a good project brief include?
A brief does not need to be long. It needs to be clear enough for the team to understand why the project exists and who owns each decision.
Suggested structure
- Context: what is happening and why now.
- Goal: the change the project should create.
- Audience: who will use or see the result.
- Deliverables: the concrete outputs required.
- Constraints: time, budget, technical and legal limits.
- Success criteria: how the result will be evaluated.
A strong brief also states what is out of scope. That protects both timeline and quality.
